But to spend over a million dollars for a wedding is beyond your imagination most especially in a dwindling global economic state. Today, the most expensive wedding was that of Vanisha Mittal. Her father, Lakshmi Mittal throws her the most extravagant and lavish wedding which has awed the world. The bride’s father happens to be the third richest man in this world. The wedding of Vanisha Mittal took place in 2004 and was a huge event. The first sign that it was going to be something special was the wedding invitation.
Mittals’ invitations were no ordinary piece of stationery. Each invitation was 20 pages in length and included verses written by members of the family. These invitations were sent with a jade necklace or diamond watch for their closest friends and families. What really set the invitations apart was that it has a silver casing to hold the invitation neatly. The Mittals’ guest list included 1,200 people who were all brought to Paris for five days of festivities in France that ranged from the Tulleries Gardens in Paris to the Palace of Versailles.
Lakshmi Mittal reportedly spent around $70 million on the wedding celebration of Vanisha to Amit Bhatia. The wedding was held at Vaux le Vicomte a 17th-century French chateau on the final day of a 6 day celebration. The finale for the wedding was a Kylie Minogue performance for all the guests.
