There I was in my best friend’s wedding, holding a bouquet of flowers in a pink dress just roaming around the crowd, wondering off with half a smile on my face, and there he was, amidst the crowd I saw him in an Army class A uniform. He looked so handsome in his uniform as he stood firmly outside the Church. He caught my eye but how was I to know, that we were going to be introduced in the wedding reception. His name was Kirk.
After we were introduced we sat a seat apart from each other where Michelle, another friend of mine was in between us. It may sound silly the way we catch each other looking at each other, and I could really sense that he was paying attention to me as he was moving his body back and forth just trying to talk to me. It was very funny yet sweet in it own little way.
That night, we got acquainted again through mutual friends and it seems that faith played it part so we took the toll. We went along with these friends of ours in a car and then they drove fast down the road, the wind just blew our hair, i felt the coolness of the night touching my face, and as then they saw the scene of a beach, we all just couldn’t help but make that stop offer. We threw caution to the wind and just removed our shoes and settle to walk along the shore. That is when the the long talks began. I felt in some instance during those talks that he held my hand. I felt at eased. I just let it be and as the night grew old. We knew this was not the last time we’ll see each other. And so we saw each other again throughout the summer.
And in Christmas of the same year, he proposed to me by hanging an engagement ring on the Christmas tree. It felt right so I said yes.
